After my first day of school, I'm pretty excited for the semester. The days are long, but I feel like this semester I will finally take away something that's going to help me. I'm experiencing passion in my classes this semester, and it's a welcome change! In my science methods class this morning, we had to make a picture of how we imagine ourselves as a science teacher.
As a teacher, I want to be mainly a facilitator, guiding students through learning. I want the students to come to me with questions and curiosity and my job will then be to build experiments that answer their questions while still fulfilling standards. You may notice one of the students in the bottom right has had an "ah-ha!" moment while his classmates are still questioning things. I want an inquiry-based, project-based classroom where all students are engaged and part of a learning community.
Let's get this semester going!
